2003 Deer Harvest

First week of October.  Sitting between bean field and CRP in edge of woods.  Saw bucks were using the field, but not close enough for shot.  Went out with decoy and when this buck stepped out, Scott rattled.  Buck came in on a string.

Scott shows how even early season the decoy can work.  In the early season the bucks are establishing a pecking order and will investigate the 'new' buck to put them in place.

Here is the trail camera of this great buck
- No ground shrinkage for Buffalo County bucks! -

Buck has a normal right side, but the left is damaged
(easy to see in the trail camera pic)

Nice 3 1/2 yr old,    Gross 145"
About 215lbs dressed
