Greg shot this buck the 2nd day of our rifle season.
Greg and his son, Jake, both sat on a fence line about
500 yards apart. This spot is a great travel
corridor between two wooded bluffs...and a huge
riverbottom...perfect escape route when gun season is
under way.
It's always surprising how bucks use
the open country and fencelines to escape hunting
pressure. This was the fourth shooter Greg saw, he
watched him cross a road into a standing corn field then
emerge into the open fields where Greg anchored him at
150 yards. The buck was 5x3 typical with a giant 200+
dressed weight. Huge bodied deer!! |
