2003 Luckiest Buck...

Turns into the Lucky Hunter!

 Jamie Davis

The story of the Lucky Buck continued this year and the lucky buck became the Lucky Hunter

Morning hunt, this buck came in following a hot doe.  Now as you can see, he is headed to the taxidermist.

Pictures just don't do justice to the actual size and how symmetrical is the rack.

Gross score 165 1/2" with less than 15" spread!  The tips of the rack actually cross in the front.

Always nice to see friends get a crack at one of these great bucks.

Read below to find out why this buck was the "Lucky Buck."

Look at the tips of the beams...they actually cross.

It's hard to tell but if this 14" spread was 19" then this would be a Booner!

Way to go!

The Story of the Lucky Buck

The luckiest buck in the woods...
The BIGGER buck shed and got away!

I found this buck while out glassing deer in February.  The amazing thing was the buck that was locked-up with him, shed his rack and got away.

8 pt is around a 130" gross
10 pt is around a 150" gross

About 6 weeks later found the other side
to the 10 pt.  Looks like he made it and will be running the ridges this fall.

(If this happened any earlier, the 10 would not have been ready to shed...that was LUCKY)
